Hi there,

I'm using on daily basis: Notes, Reminders, Calendar, Mail, Passwords and Freeform recently (not Safari though).

I'm a big fan of Apple native apps for their look and feel, elegance, simplicity and overall performance and UX.

Coming from Figma/Figjam, i find that sharing and collaborating functionalities could be better with Freeform.

I always prefer to use simple but efficient software instead of over-engineered tools.

Hey Vincent CallutΒ ,

thank you for making the first step – so glad you are here. πŸ™

Your daily toolset sounds almost identical to mine (except I do use Safari πŸ˜„).

I totally agree on Freeform – I love it, but it’s definitely not FigJam yet in terms of collaboration. Still, for solo thinking and visual planning, it’s a gem.

Curious: How are you currently using Notes + Reminders together? Any specific workflows you’ve built?

Vincent Callut

Actually, I kinda copy your way of connecting Notes with Reminders. I’m a functional analyst. So, I write user stories in Notes, group them by Feature and state (draft, validated, implemented) with tags and smart folders. Once the development begins, I copy notes to reminders to track evolution (dev, QA, prod).

I use Freeform to make use cases diagrams. Would love to be able to link blocks to notes.

I’m still hesitating to use Calendar to keep track of spent times on a project, but I will give it a try for sure.

Chris Plonski

That’s amazing, Vincent Callut! Love how you’re adapting the system to your needs. πŸ”₯

The way you track state (draft β†’ validated β†’ implemented) with tags + folders is super clever. Definitely stealing that! πŸ˜„

Would be awesome to see a small post in the Notes or Reminders space with a breakdown – I think many here could benefit from your workflow.

Also: Freeform for use cases = genius. I so wish we could link blocks too.

Let me know how it goes if you try using Calendar for time tracking – I still use a separate tool dedicated to time tracking myself. 😬

Vincent Callut

Yes, i keep a homemade time tracking tool as well, alongside my invoice system.

Actually, i've begun a blog posts series (sorry, it's in French) to explain my approach to an e-commerce project, from the functional analyst POV. I will explain, for sure one day, the tools i'm using to achieve that.
