Info
During my time as an interaction designer at Spreadshirt, my main responsibility was to unify the marketplace experience across the platform. The goal was to create a cohesive look and feel that would make the platform consistent and user-friendly. In collaboration with ex-UX Designer Tobias Loy, we redefined the visual identity and user experience of the marketplace, resulting in a unified platform that remains in place today (as of mid-2017).
Overview
The challenge was to ensure that every aspect of the marketplace felt like part of a single, cohesive platform. We focused on key elements such as list pages, detail pages, and landing pages. Once these core areas were redesigned, we extended the visual and functional elements across the entire platform, ensuring consistency throughout. Our efforts introduced a modern, responsive design that aligned with Spreadshirt’s brand while enhancing user experience.
My Role
I played a key role in shaping the visual and interaction design of the unified marketplace. Working closely with Tobias Loy, I focused on redesigning core pages like the list, detail, and landing pages. We introduced a clean and modern design with more whitespace, a responsive layout, and new components like a revamped header, footer, mini-basket, and mini-wishlist. My responsibility also included spreading these assets across the platform while maintaining respect for the existing branding.
Outcomes & Impact
The unified marketplace significantly improved the consistency and user experience across the platform. The redesign helped create a seamless and cohesive shopping experience for users, making navigation more intuitive and visually appealing. The introduction of modern design elements and responsive features allowed the platform to adapt to evolving user needs while staying true to Spreadshirt’s brand identity.
