Info
innogy SE was one of Europe’s leading energy companies, with a focus on renewable energy, grids, and retail. Their commitment to innovation and sustainability made them a key player in the development of forward-thinking technologies, including eMobility.
Overview
When innogy ventured into the eMobility sector, it was truly a greenfield project. At that time, there were no established best practices or existing frameworks to rely on for UX design. The challenge was to create a user experience from the ground up, starting with no pre-existing templates or guidelines. This provided a unique opportunity to shape the user experience in a rapidly evolving industry.
My Role
Throughout the project, I was deeply involved in shaping the design and user experience for innogy’s eMobility products. This involved numerous pitches and workshops within the company, where I collaborated with stakeholders to align on vision and direction.
At the peak of the project, I was leading the design efforts across five different Scrum teams. We undertook a comprehensive re-design and alignment of all products, unifying them under a single, cohesive design language. This involved working on a diverse range of products, spanning backend systems, mobile applications, and even software integrated into hardware.
Outcomes & Impact
The collaboration extended over many years, during which we successfully delivered a consistent and innovative design system for innogy’s eMobility products. This project not only enhanced the user experience but also set a new standard within the industry for eMobility solutions.
